11 Ott ASEAN SUSTAINABLE ENERGY WEEK 2020 – The point of view of Informa Markets, the event organizer
The 2020 edition of ASEW – ASEAN Sustainable Energy Week, the South East Asia largest international fair and conference on renewable energy, energy efficiency and environmental technology, took place from 23 to 26 September at the BITEC Exhibition Center in Bangkok. Despite the problems related to the pandemic, Informa Markets, the organizing company, with an excellent job made it possible to carry out the event safely, creating the possibility to participate remotely as visitors and to follow the numerous webinars and conferences. An excellent result that, with the positive prospects of the sector in the region, makes us look forward to the next edition on 12-14 May 2021.

“Thailand as the official organizer for ASEAN Sustainable Energy Week 2020 (ASE 2020), revealed that the COVID-19 pandemic as affected the Thai economy in all sectors but business operations and sustainable development must not be disrupted, which is in line with Informa’s vision that aims to push the industry to have opportunities to develop, learn about technology and innovation and move towards sustainability. Consequence, the organization of the event under a new normal theme that responds to a new way of living has been organized and developed an exhibition in the form of Hybrid Exhibition to support both the physical exhibition and the virtual exhibition in order to facilitate the foreign visitors who cannot visit the event by themselves to meet and talk with exhibitors through online platforms throughout the four-day event. In addition, safety and sanitary are enhanced while visiting the event, in accordance with the organizational and sanitation measures, following Informa All Secure safety standard to the surveillance and monitoring measures for the transmission of COVID-19, assure everyone in learning and attending renewable energy technology exhibitions and conferences, and the most complete environment conservation event of the year.”
“The ASE 2020 has been organized in cooperation with government-private network partners such as the Energy Ministry, the Industry Ministry, the Resources and Environment Ministry, the Transport Ministry, the Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation Ministry, Thailand Board of Investment, the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand, Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau, Renewable Energy Industry Group, the Federation of Thai Industries, the Joint Graduate School of Energy and Environment King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (JGSEE), and a large number of private sectors under the concept “ENERGY SOLUTIONS FOR SMART CITIES”, the latest energy technology and innovation are fully displayed. And this year, we have organized events in collaboration with Renewable Energy Asia, Entech Pollutec Asia, Energy Efficiency Expo, Electric Vehicle Asia, an exhibition for electric vehicle technology and equipment, battery management and control equipment for charging stations. The exhibition will be a showcase for the most innovative energy source, along with advanced technology and equipment from more than 1,000 leading brands in the world, including official sponsors from the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) and FIMER. Moreover, there are more than 50 seminars, both in Thai and English, and the international conference on renewable energy on the topic ‘International Conference Sustainable Energy Solutions for Smart Cities’ and other interesting topics with expert speakers from international countries to provide knowledge, including highlights of EV Drive & Ride activities at EV Asia 2020, the first and only event in Thailand. General public has tested electric vehicles from leading electric car brands in Thailand such as BMW, Porsche, Jaguar, Audi, EGAT, MG, etc.”
